August 3, 2024!

Elegantly weird, Parliament of Owls is a black and white owl themed lantern parade. 

Everyone is always invited to make an owl lantern and walk in the parade with the Black Sheep Ensemble!

Parade attire is black and white. You do need an owl lantern to walk in the parade. 

 

Owls flock in The Plaza of Colony Square at 8:30pm and take flight at 9:00pm! 

Please fly behind the band.

Check out the parade route! It's a 1.2 mile loop that will pass through the new Art Walk!

The parade should return around 9:45 and the Black Sheep will play until 10pm. The Arts Center MARTA Station is two blocks from the start/finish.

Workshops & Kit Sales

• ​Owl Lantern Workshop at Museum of Design Atlanta                                                                                            July 18, 6-8pm $25 for members, $30 for future members. Register here.

• ​Owl lantern kits will be available at Midtown Ace Hardware, 860 Juniper St. NE 30308                                   Starting on July 26th at noon til parade. $15-$25

• ​​Drop-in Owl Lantern Workshop and kit sales on the Patio at The Plaza at Colony Square!                 Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, August 1 from 6:30-8:30pm.  $15-$25, free owl mask prints.

 

Making lanterns together and marching in the parade is memorable community building.
